New Century Kicks is a punk, new wave, jazz, sometimes country, and indie rock project, hailing from Nottingham. The band is a project for David Harpur Holloway. A BBC Introducing played songwriter. The flowers and the weeds is an alter ego project of mine, for jazz, folk rock, and jazz. I did not want confusion between genres on the BBC. My YouTube and Spotify use all my genres in one.
David began as a poet for Infinite 29 with Dr Ben Salmonds who created the “break the stigma” campaign in Bedford. He knew Jonny Benjamin of “Finding Mike” and has written 3 books of poetry. In 2020 at lockdown he got a feeling to write songs.
